YouTube - Neil Diamond Tribute - "The Diamond Image"
I have been a fan of oldies music since I was a small child. My earliest memories are sneaking upstairs to the attic to play my dad's records of Elvis and the other oldies. After that I never really shook my love for the oldies. While I did love to sing I was cut from every chorus and choir I ever tried out for in school, but that never bent my interest in singing. After high school I went on to dabble in stand-up comedy where I did impressions on stage. I always got kudos on my mimics of oldies singers.
After graduating college I went into the U.S. Navy. While stationed in San Diego I was introduced to karaoke for the first time and tried my hand at it. "All Shook Up" was my very first song. All the girls standing around seemed to like it, as they were screaming, so I decided that I would stick with it.
For the next couple of years I spent all my extra time studying Elvis, everything about him and not just his music. After my release from the Navy I decided to go into “Elvis” as a career. I opened up a business that enabled me to polish my artistry, called Elvis Allynn Productions, Inc. After a while I began to gain more interest in my impersonation work.
I have appeared on eight local radio stations, four TV stations and in three national commercials. I was also televised nationally while singing the nation anthem as Elvis for Fox Sports' "Tough Man Contest". I was Roanoke, VA’s oldies radio station's (104.9FM WRDJ) only Elvis, and did many tribute shows for them. I have preformed as Elvis, Neil Diamond, Conway Twitty, and Ace Ventura in weddings, family reunions, company picnics, bars and casinos. Locations such as: Birmingham, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Tunica MS, New York, Memphis, and many others in 29 different states. I have also done charity functions for The American Heart Association, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Saint Jude's, and others.
I keep my shows simple and adhere to the routines set forth by the King himself. I do not embellish movements nor do I do anything out of Elvis’ character. Although I have been doing impressions since 1984, I moved to Branson, MO in 2003 to make this my career. While in Branson I have starred or appeared in 2 or 3 shows every year, comedies as well as tribute shows.
Elvis recorded 743 songs throughout his lifetime. I am proud to say I do a little over 400 of them, as well as several hundred of other artists’ songs. Artists include: Ray Stevens, John Conlee, Willie Nelson, Julio Iglesias, Joe Cocker, Neil Diamond, Kermit the Frog, etc. just to name a few.
I enjoy being in front of people no matter if it's 5 or 50,000 and will always give the best show I possibly can. I look forward to seeing you.
